Put-in-Bay Villas, situated on world-famous South Bass Island in Lake Erie, provides an all-encompassing vacation rental experience. The Ohio Historical Society's Baseball Team, The Ohio Muffins, visit Put-in-Bay each summer for their annual match against the Put in Bay Mossbacks at the Concord Avenue ball field at 2 pm on Sunday of Historical Weekend each year. Sponsored by Miller Boat Line, the game is played under the orignal rules of baseball and all players wear a style of shirts, ties and ball caps from the 1880's. Costumed characters from the Ohio Historical Society interact with the spectators and players, distribute a newsletter giving the history of baseball and the Muffins and enforce the rules. Members of the Lake Erie Islands Historical Society sell hot dogs, soft drinks and water for a minimal charge. Bleachers are available, but bring a blanket or chair for a comfortable seat in the shade.

More than 30 recreational soccer teams compete in multiple divisions in the annual Put-in-Bay Soccer Tournament here in July. "The Put-in-Bay Cup" is played on McCann Field, located on Toledo Avenue, near downtown Put-in-Bay. The tournament is run by 6v6 Soccer Challenge that organizes 6-person team soccer tournaments across the Midwest. Co-ed teams must have two females and team rosters are limited to 11 players. Visit 6v6's website to register a team. Spectators should bring a lawn chair or blanket to watch the action. Put-in-Bay High School kids will operate a concession with hot dogs, soft drinks and water.

More than 1,800 players in six-person co-ed teams compete in different divisions in the annual "Battle at the Bay" Volleyball Tournament in August. The volleyball tournament began more than 35 years ago with just one net and a handful of teams in Put-in-Bay's DeRivera Park downtown. The "Battle of the Bay" is organized by Lakeview Volleyball Club. Play takes place mainly on McCann Field, located on Toledo Avenue near Put in Bay's downtown. Contact Lakeview Volleyball for more information about registering a team. Bring a lawn chair or blanket to watch the action. Put-in-Bay High School kids operate a conession with soft drinks, water and hot dogs.

Bartenders representing Put-in-Bay's 18 licensed permit holders establishments compete in different skill events in the annual Bartender Olympics hosted by the Roundhouse Bar on Delaware Avenue. The Bartender Olympics event is held the second week in August each year. Bartenders compete in a Bar Quiz, a Free Pour, Keg Roll, Beer Can Carry, Parade Float and Skit, Narration of "What Bartending Means to Me" and the end of the night Best Original Drink. Outdoor events begin at 7:30 pm with the Parade and Skit, followed by the lighting of the Olympic Torch. This event began more than 20 years ago.
